About my work.
I was born and bred in Edinburgh, but have spent more than half my lifetime in Aviemore. It was the opportunity to ski here that first attracted me to this area as a young ski instructor. With no formal art training, I have been practising illustration for a long time whilst working from home and raising my two sons. I enjoy sketching outdoors and attend creative workshops whenever I can.
For a while I designed cards and giftware for the gift industry with a style that appeals to children and adults alike. During the past few years I have created a range of merchandise that features my local stomping ground of Aviemore and the Cairngorms . I have been distributing this to local shops and it is also available from my Etsy Store. This has led to artistic collaborations with many local businesses in the area too.
I’m passionate about nature and love my outdoorsy life in the Cairngorms National Park. The Highland landscape is a constant source of inspiration in every season and I cherish opportunities to visit the high places with my sketch book and watercolours stashed in my rucksack.
